Inside Out

Philippians 2
12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Did you hear that? Do you have the desire to serve God? Do you love God? Even your desire to serve and love God comes from God himself.

King David, after committing the biggest sin of his life, pours himself out in a psalm. He prays, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Does your heart need purifying? In the book of Ezekiel God tells Israel, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Have you tried to change lately? Has that stony heart proven unyielding? Quit trying to change yourself and beg the God who can turn your heart of stone into a heart of flesh to do His work.
