You Need iReal b

Hello soloists! Here’s the tool you need to get your chops together. iReal b, builds accompaniments from your chord charts. Enter the chords to your song, pick a style (jazz, latin, rock), and get busy.

Beginning rhythm guitarists can use it to practice playing their strum patterns with a band. More advanced players can work on soloing over the changes.

I’ve been making all of my pop, worship, and jazz students buy it. It works on the iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) and there’s a version for the Mac too.

Here’s the version to run on your Mac. $19.99

Here’s the version for your iPod Touch or iPhone. $7.99

It doesn’t come with any tunes, but they’re quick and easy to add.

For a collection of jazz standards get these.

Browse this forum for some worship songs to get you started.

Best money you ever spent on becoming a better musician.

Caleb Nei is the Worship Arts Director at Emmaus Church in Berryville. He also teaches at least 40 piano lessons each week, is a member of the band Stereoreel, plays piano jazz at a couple of restaurants when Stereoreel isn’t playing, has three children, one wife and loves where God has him. He has a degree in church music from Huntington University and has studied jazz at Shenandoah University. He has no additional hobbies because he’s one of those people who have been able to get a job doing what he’d do for free anyway.
