This was one of the more involved designs that I’ve worked on. Juliana has a specific artistic vision and is willing to work, work, work, to get there. It’s a very personal project for her and that’s communicated in this art. All of the handwritten bits are her handwriting. She’d write some passages, scan them in, I’d clean them up in Illustrator, we’d plug them in and see how they looked. Then repeat the process until they were perfect.

Teresa Tam took the photos in an abandoned distillery somewhere in Kentucky. They turned out really striking and dramatic.

I think this album achieves a great level of cohesion between the music, the narrative of the booklet, the photography, and the handwritten text.
